Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is on the horizon. It’s that time of year where the leaves begin to turn yellow and build up on the lawn, the sweaters from the back of the closet are pulled out and the idea of giving rather than receiving takes a seat in the forefront of our minds. Giving to some can be an art form, finding the perfect gift can be a daunting task for others. For those of us in recovery the gift that we all need is experience, strength and most importantly, sponsorship.
This holiday season we brainstormed on how to give more to our community, how to reach outside of these gates and support not just Taylor but everyone in recovery. Wednesday December 7th we have partnered with Forgotten dogs of the 5th Ward Project to put together a Sponsor and Sponsee networking event. We are calling all willing to give time and guidance to others in recovery.
The event starts at 7:00pm and runs till 9:30pm, before and after the AA meeting we’ll have music and food setup in and around our community room. Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project will have a table set to showcase their efforts and mission into rescuing local animals. We are asking anyone who attends the event to donate supplies for the rescue dogs.
